PMI foam RS has been specially developed to meet the requirements of vacuum assisted injection and resin transfer molding processes. The mechanical properties and heat mechanical properties of PMI foam RS is equivalent to PMI foam WH. The design of smaller pore diameter makes it have a lower resin absorption capacity which is lower 30% by PMI foam WH. While reducing the adhesive absorption weight, the adhesive force between the foam core material and the skin material can reach the best balance.
PMI foam RS can be applied to parts manufactured by resin injection process in aviation, aerospace and sports equipment, which can effectively reduce the weight of parts. The optimized cell structure makes PMI foam RS is particularly suitable for RTM or VARI processes.
